Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) has recently launched a groundbreaking initiative to provide social protection to orphan girls for their education. This program is part of PBM's Orphan and Widow Support Program, which seeks to address the needs of orphans and widows in the country.
Under this program, each family with orphan girls will receive financial assistance ranging from PKR 6,000 to 12,000, depending on the number of girls in the family. The official ceremony for the release of the payment was held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal and was presided over by PBM Managing Director Amir Fida Paracha.
During the ceremony, Paracha emphasized the importance of providing financial assistance to orphan girls who are often neglected by society after the loss of their father. The aim of the initiative is to provide financial support to ensure that these girls can continue their education and become accomplished mothers in the future.
Furthermore, a detailed explanation of the program's features was given at the event. This initiative is the first of its kind launched by PBM to provide education to orphan girls in the country.
As part of the initiative, PBM's Director of Projects, Qasim Zafar, will be providing financial support to orphan girls of registered widows with BISP through schools, colleges, and universities.
According to Zafar, the pilot project will be evaluated after three months. Families will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 6,000 to 12,000, based on the number of girls, through the UBL Omni.
This initiative is a significant step towards empowering orphan girls and ensuring that they receive an education that will allow them to reach their full potential.
