According to the report, both the speed and altitude of the aircraft were higher than the recommended parameters when the pilot attempted the first landing. The first time the plane hit the ground on a 9,000 meter runway.

The control tower made it possible to land despite the higher speed and height. Air traffic control also did not provide radio frequency to the control tower.

The aircraft remained in the air for 17 minutes after the first landing attempt, a crucial moment when both aircraft engines failed.

According to the report, flight crew should have been exempted after the incident, but should have continued to perform their duties until 1:00 PM. The aircraft's first engine was installed on February 25, 2019 and the second engine was installed on May 27, 2019.

All aircraft landing gear was installed on October 18, 2014. The fateful plane was 16 years old and was produced in 2004. The aircraft was added to the PIA fleet in October 2014.
