Nineteen-year-old Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif became the youngest climber to climb K2, the second highest mountain in the world.
The astonishing feat of Lahore native Kashif came about two months after becoming the youngest climber to climb the world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest, as part of the 2021 SST expedition.
A passionate climber, Shehroze started climbing at the age of 11 and climbed Makra Peak (3,885m). From there, at the age of 12, he conquered Musa ka Massalah (4,080 m) followed by Chembra Peak (4,600 m).

This was followed by Minglik Sar Shimshal (6,050m) at age 13, K2 Gondogoro La K2 Base Camp (5,585m) at age 14 and Khurdopin Pass (5,890m) at age 15. At the age of 17 he climbed Broad Peak (8,047 m) and received the title "The Broad Boy" and at the age of 18 he reached the top of the Khusar Gang-Alpine Style (6,050 m).
At the age of 19 he conquered Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world at 8,849 m, making him one of the youngest in the country.
Pakistan Prime Minister's Office also appraised his success and congratulated him on his Victory.

US embassy in Pakistan also appreciated and congratulated him on his remarkable success over becoming the youngest climber of world to summit the K2.
