The provincial government of KPK has started handing out the special Zu cards to be used to access the service, before officially launching the long-awaited BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) project from Peshawar,
Kranber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the chief minister's special assistant for information and local government, Kamran Bangash used his Zu card at the Gulbahar bus link station on Thursday.
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to announce the date of the official launch of the highly delayed BRT (Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit) service on August 10.

Government spokesman Kamran Khan Bangash informed that a meeting would be held on August 9 or 10 to start the bus service, at which Prime Minister Mahmood Khan would be informed of the bus project.
"CM KPK himself would announce a date for the formal opening of the BRT project in view of the discussions at the meeting," he said.
Bangash said the provincial government did not want any problems to arise during the start of the service, so all aspects of the project would be discussed at the meeting.
He said all aspects of the project, including the main corridor and the installation of an intelligent transportation system, were in place and operational while the test buses were driving through the corridor.
On this occasion, Bangash announced that the residents of Peshawar will soon receive the “good news” about the opening of the late BRT service.
The BRT service will completely change the mobility landscape of the provincial capital, he added.
After waiting in line for a while, Bangash got his Zu card and drove a fast bus ride. He said every citizen must have the card to use BRT's facilities.
Last week, K-P Labor Minister Shaukat Yousafzai announced that the BRT project was completed and that the government would announce the official inauguration after the test drives on the route were completed.
