Pakistan Judo Team Clinches Gold at Peace and Friendship Games

Pakistan's judo team achieved a remarkable victory on Monday in the Peace and Friendship Games held in Iran. They secured a gold medal for their country by triumphing over the host nation's team in an intense final match.

The Pakistan Judo Federation provided details about the winning team members. The Pakistani squad consisted of Sher Khan Kakar in the -60kg category, Qudratullah in the -73kg category, Junaid Khan in the -81kg category, and Haseeb Mustafa in the -90kg category.

In a closely contested final, the four-member Pakistani team exhibited exceptional skill and determination, managing to defeat Iran A's five-member team with a score of 3-2. This outstanding performance led them to seize the coveted gold medal.

During the preliminary matches, Pakistan had already demonstrated its prowess by overcoming challenges posed by Iran B and Afghanistan. These victories solidified their place in the final showdown.

Notably, Haseeb Mustafa, one of Pakistan's judokas, contributed significantly to the team's success. His impressive performance extended beyond team events as he also participated in the Kure. In the final bout, he displayed remarkable skill and determination, resulting in his individual gold medal win. Despite his individual accomplishment, the Pakistani contingent secured the second position overall, earning a well-deserved silver medal.

In addition to the team's achievements, Pakistan also excelled in the men's individual category. Syed Muhammad emerged victorious in the final of the 60kg bout, adding another gold medal to Pakistan's impressive haul.
