PCB confirms the opening ceremony of PSL6 in Istanbul

The opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 will take place in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Famous singer Atif Aslam, rapper Imran Khan and actor model Humaima Malik will participate in the tense anticipated opening ceremony of PSL 2021, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Sunday.

In a press release released Sunday evening, PCB said it would be Atif Aslam making his debut at the PSL opening ceremony, while Khan and Malik would be attending along with PSL 2021 anthem stars Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and Young Stunners.

PSL 2021 "kicks off with a glamorous opening ceremony on February 20 with an entertaining event" - an annual colorful event since the series began in 2016. "With Atif, renowned rap artist Imran Khan will make his debut on the HBL PSL stage.

At the opening ceremony of HBL PSL 6, some parts will be recorded offshore in a specially designed studio in Turkey. “The first four ceremonies were held at the Dubai International Stadium, while the opening ceremony was held at the Karachi National Stadium in 2020, and the ceremony will be held at the same location in 2021,” the board said.

In this regard, Babar Hamid, PCB Commercial Director, announced that the opening ceremony of PSL 2021 "would be very exciting, especially considering the use of the latest technology to create the experience for Pakistani fans.

As always, the excitement is heightened with the tournament's inaugural match, and the people of Karachi are absolutely looking forward to the Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators taking to the field as both have major implications for the city.

The ceremony will be broadcast Pakistani state television sports channel PTV. The start time "will be announced in the coming week".
