Sehat Sahulat Program launched by PM in KPK

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched health insurance for all residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Thursday as part of the Sehat Sahulat program.

Under the program, each family will receive health insurance of R 1 million each. Year. Both public and private hospitals designated under the program provide free treatment to residents of the county.

The state life insurer, which was selected through a tendering process, will receive 2849 rupees each. Family annually.

During the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister praised the initiative and said the move would also put pressure on other provinces to introduce such welfare initiatives.

He said he would also promote the idea in Punjab, where Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in power, and suggested that the government of Balochistan launch a similar initiative in the province.

Once the people of the three provinces have access to free health care, the residents of Sindh will urge the provincial government to implement a similar program, he said.

In his speech today, the Prime Minister praised the CP government for implementing the program, saying, “You do not know how important the step you have taken is. You will see when people send you prayers. "

He said PTI's provincial government has implemented the program despite budget constraints.

The prime minister said the program will also motivate public hospitals to provide better healthcare facilities to compete with private hospitals that will provide free treatment under the Sehat Sahulat program.

He said the government would encourage private hospitals by cutting tariffs on imported medical devices. In addition, Auqaf and the Evacuated Trust Department will sell land at lower prices to anyone looking to build a hospital.

He said hospitals are also being built in remote areas so that healthcare is accessible to all citizens.

While health insurance is available to all residents with ID, the Prime Minister called on the KP government to "encourage everyone to get a health card" so that a proper database can be maintained and theft stolen.

All residents of the Swat, Buner, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Shangla, Malakand, Chitral Lower, Chitral Upper and Bajaur districts of the Malakand Division will receive free healthcare from October, regardless of their financial situation.

It is followed by the Hazara Division in November, Mardan and Peshawar in December, and Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan in January, when the entire population of the province receives free medical services.

The first phase of the program started in 2015 and covered three percent of the population (100,000 families in four provinces) in the province.

In the second phase of 2016, the program was expanded to 51 percent of the population (1,791,930 people in all districts). The third phase of the program started in 2017 and covered 64 percent of the population (3,200,000 families).

So far, more than 10 billion rupees have been spent on free treatment for 250,000 people.
