Pakistani climber Asad Ali Memon made the country proud on Tuesday after becoming the first Pakistani and Asian to climb Kilimanjaro in one day.
"Alhumdulillah, I was the only Asian and Pakistani to climb Kilimanjaro in less than 24 hours," the climber said in an Instagram post. Memon said it only took him 20 hours to reach the top and return to the gate of Africa's highest mountain.

According to the Pakistani Embassy in Tanzania, Memon had arrived in Kilimanjaro last week, where he had become accustomed to the area. After two days of preparation and acclimatization on Kilimanjaro, Memon will descend to the "starting point Umbwe Gate" in Kilimanjaroon on the morning of February 14, 2021.

He will rest for a day before arriving early in the morning at 6:00 am. Monday, February 15, 2021 ā, reads a mission statement. The mission said Memon's Umbwe route is the "most difficult" route to climb Kilimanjaro as it has a steep climb.
The Umbwe trail route, approaching from south, is a short and vertical climb. When it reaches Barranco camp, the trail turns west before reaching Uhuru summit (5895 meters) of Arrow Glacier camp "said the mission.
It added that the route was also difficult because it did not provide the āgradual acclimation stagesā. Asad Ali has a plan to summit the Seven mountains, Kilimanjaro is the third mountain in its "Seven Summit Challenge".
Last year, Asad had successfully climbed Aconcagua, America's highest mountain, and hoisted the Pakistani flag on Argentina's summit.
The government of Pakistan also appraised him by tweeting about his Victory on the official account, Pakistan appreciated asad for climbing the highest mountain in Africa.
