BISP 14500 Direct Bank Transfer: How to Link Your Account Before the August 2026 Cutoff
BISP has started paying its quarterly 14,500-rupee Kafalat instalment straight into beneficiaries’ bank accounts. From August 2026 the system is live in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan, and the rest of Pakistan follows by year-end. If you haven’t linked a bank account yet, here’s how to do it — and what to do if your status is stuck.
For years, BISP beneficiaries collected payments from HBL or Bank Alfalah biometric ATMs after standing in queues. That method is being phased out. The new direct bank transfer moves the 14,500 rupees into the beneficiary’s own savings account, with no agent, no biometric machine, and no waiting. Anyone who fails to link a bank before the deadline will keep getting paid through the old method temporarily — but BISP has warned that non-banked disbursements end by January 2027.
Who is eligible for direct bank transfer
The direct transfer method is available only to a defined group of beneficiaries, not everyone on the BISP list.
- Women registered under the BISP Kafaalat Programme.
- Beneficiaries with a valid CNIC and active mobile number registered in their name.
- Recipients who have completed biometric verification.
- Families who linked a bank account before the August 2026 deadline.
How to link your bank account (step-by-step)
- Walk into any branch of HBL, Bank Alfalah, Habib Metro, or Allied Bank with your original CNIC and the SIM registered in your name.
- Ask to open a basic free Asaan account — it takes about 10 minutes and has no minimum balance.
- Submit your new account IBAN and mobile number at your nearest BISP Tehsil Office, or enter it online at 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
- Wait for a confirmation SMS. Once it arrives, your next quarterly payment of Rs 14,500 will land directly in your account.
How to check whether your payment is ready
There are two free, official ways. Both take under two minutes.
| Method | Steps | Reply time |
|---|---|---|
| SMS | Send your 13-digit CNIC (no dashes) to 8171 | 2–5 minutes, free on all networks |
| Web portal | Open 8171.bisp.gov.pk, enter CNIC + captcha, click Check Status | Instant |
| Helpline | Call 0800-26477 (toll-free) for stuck cases | Same day, often within hours |
The reply will usually say one of four things: Balance Available (your 14,500 is ready to collect), In Process (payment being prepared), Not Eligible (you don’t currently meet the criteria), or no reply at all (your SIM may be mis-registered — see the helpline).
Frequently asked questions
Is the BISP payment now Rs 14,500 or Rs 13,500?
Rs 14,500. BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid raised the quarterly Kafalat instalment from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,500 ahead of Ramadan 2026. Anything you see quoting Rs 13,500 is outdated.
Will the amount increase again?
Reports suggest a further rise to Rs 19,500 from January 2027, but the exact figure has not been confirmed by BISP. The current cycle is fixed at Rs 14,500, and the October–December quarter is expected to stay at the same level.
Do I need a smartphone to link my bank account?
No. You can do the whole process by walking into a bank branch and a BISP Tehsil Office with your original CNIC. The SMS status check works on any mobile phone, even a basic feature phone.
What if my status is stuck on “In Process” for weeks?
Call the BISP helpline at 0800-26477 (toll-free on all networks) or visit your nearest Tehsil Office with your original CNIC. The most common cause is a SIM registered against someone else’s name — get it re-registered at your telco first.
Can I collect Rs 14,500 from an ATM as well?
Yes, once it is in your account. The machine won’t see it as a BISP payment — it will simply be a normal balance you can withdraw from any partner-bank ATM or counter.
What happens to unclaimed payments?
Uncollected payments do not automatically carry over to the next quarter. If your status shows the money is ready, collect it before the window closes — typically the end of the third month of each quarter.
