Saudi Arabia Opens Doors for Umrah 2024 Pilgrims Again

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has started issuing Umrah visas for the post-Hajj season.

The new Umrah season aligns with the beginning of the Islamic year on Muharram 1, marking a significant transition for Muslims around the world. The Kingdom’s initiative underscores its ongoing commitment to facilitating religious observances and making spiritual journeys more accessible to an increasing number of pilgrims.

As per the media reports, KSA’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is implementing directives from the leadership to accommodate more pilgrims and provide tailored services to meet their needs. This effort is part of a broader strategy to enhance the overall experience of pilgrims through various support mechanisms.

The Ministry's measures include improved infrastructure, streamlined visa processes, and enhanced on-ground services to ensure pilgrims can perform their rituals with ease and comfort.

Previously, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah temporarily halted issuing Umrah permits for a month starting May 23. This measure was implemented to prioritise the comfort of Hajj pilgrims from across the globe.

By focusing on the Hajj season, the Ministry ensured that the influx of pilgrims did not overwhelm the available facilities and that all pilgrims received the highest level of care and support.

The ministry announced the resumption of Umrah visa issuance via the Nusuk App from 15 Zil-Hajj, corresponding to June 21. The Nusuk App, designed to streamline the visa application process, has been instrumental in managing the large number of applications efficiently.

The ministry underscores that restarting Umrah visa issuance will facilitate the seamless arrival of Umrah pilgrims to KSA. This technological advancement reflects the Ministry's commitment to integrating modern solutions to enhance the pilgrim’s journey.

As per the ministry, this annual initiative follows immediately after the Hajj season, leveraging the ministry’s expertise to implement technical and field programs that cater to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and enhance their pilgrimage experience.

The ministry continuously evaluates and updates its programs to ensure they meet the evolving needs of pilgrims. This includes providing multilingual guides, medical services, and 24/7 assistance to address any issues that may arise during their stay.

Additionally, the ministry has been engaging with international travel agencies and religious organizations to promote the new Umrah season and ensure that pilgrims from different countries are well-informed about the updated processes and services.

These partnerships aim to create a network of support that extends beyond the Kingdom’s borders, making the journey to perform Umrah as smooth as possible for believers worldwide.

Through these efforts, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to uphold its role as the guardian of the two holy mosques, ensuring that the spiritual and logistical needs of pilgrims are met with the utmost respect and efficiency.
