The e-system can accommodate more than 3.5 million Lahore residents per year. The systems operate in nine departments in Punjab. The systems will also be functional in 36 districts.

Overall, 14 million Punjab citizens are supported by this service. The main goal of the e-Challan launch is to keep people at home and protect them from the coronavirus.

Under the new system, citizens could pay for the challenge through four different forms of payment if they were fined. Modes include mobile banking, ATMs, online banking, or through the cashier of the assigned bank branch.

Flexibility will be provided under the nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic crisis as it will encourage people to maintain a social distance.

In connection with the inauguration ceremony, Usman Bozdar said, "Paying for schallan traffic online will make it easier for the public." He congratulated the Lahore Traffic Police and Punjab Information and Technology Board on the introduction of the electronic system.

According to Bozdar, the accumulation of modern technology in our daily life is the basic policy of the government. As the ceremony progressed, the prime minister also highlighted the issue of limited opening hours due to the partial closure of the country, meaning people are struggling to file traffic sounding charges on time.

Usman Bozdar said the new e-system will help traffic police keep a full record of those who are more likely to break traffic rules. This newly introduced system will improve services and prevent long queues for citizens.

In the event of a traffic violation, the traffic officer issues an 18-digit PSID code. Here you can enter one of the payment methods mentioned above.

Once payment is made, you can present the evidence to the supervisor and return your confiscated documents on the spot. The traffic attendant uses the E-Pay Punjab mobile app to check the status of the Challan payment. Everything for the payment method is connected with 1 link integration.
