On Monday, it was confirmed by his son that prominent intellectual, educator and playwright Shoaib Hashmi had passed away after an extended illness. He was also a distinguished academic with a master's degree in economics from Government College Lahore (GCL) and an MSc degree from the esteemed London School of Economics.
