The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the highest regulator of medical and dental education in the country, has approved the MBBS and BDS approval guidelines for the 2020-21 session.
At its most recent meeting, the PMDC council allowed all medical universities to conduct nationwide MDCAT / placement tests for the 2020-21 meeting, including AJK, from September 19 to October 25 while meeting the Covid-19 related SOPs.
About 250,000 candidates will appear in the MDCAT / Admission Test, which makes approx. 18,000 are admitted to medical and dental colleges.

According to a statement from the municipality, the weight of approvals is: 50% for the placement test, 40% for HSSC / FSc and 10% for SSC.
It has also been decided that a minimum score of 65% in FSc (pre-medical) or equivalent is required to be eligible for MDCAT or placement test. Only students who obtain at least 33% of the marks on the MDCAT / entrance examination are eligible for admission.
PMDC Attorney General Brig (retired) Dr. Hafizuddin Ahmed Siddiqui said the council had revised adoption guidelines to make it easier for students and their parents to meet the profits.
He said the total number of multiple choice questions for MDCAT in all counties and federal territory would be 200 with four options.
Of these 200 MCQs, 80 are biology, 60 chemistry, 40 physics, and 20 English.
"It takes two hours and 30 minutes to try out the whole newspaper," said the official.
"The council has instructed all universities to complete admission on time." Regulatory Compliance Policy has been uploaded to the PMDC website.
After the announcement from Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar has started to register for the medical admission test from ETEA (Medical Testing and Evaluation Agency).
The test will be conducted simultaneously on September 20 in 15 cities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Swat, Chakdara, Timergara, Batkhela, Kohat, Bannu and DI Khan. Applicants will be notified of their center once registration is complete.
According to the schedule published by the Admissions Directorate of SMEs, registration will start on August 27 and last until September 7.
Scratch cards for registration of Rs 3000 will be available from August 31 at various MCB Bank branches across the province, including Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the Admissions Directorate, the test is also compulsory for graduates applying for admission to the undergraduate programs in SME Allied Health Sciences, i.e. H. Physician in Physiotherapy, BS Speech and Speech Pathology, BS Occupational Therapy, BS Nursing and BS Paramedic.
