PM Youth Laptop Scheme 2026: Today Is the Last Day to Apply at pmyp.gov.pk
Today (August 15, 2026) is the final day to apply for Phase IV of the PM Youth Laptop Scheme. The federal government is giving away 100,000 free laptops to public-university students, and the portal at laptop.pmyp.gov.pk locks at midnight. If you meet the CGPA cut-off and study at a public-sector university, you have hours, not weeks, to submit your form.
Phase IV is the largest single batch since the scheme began. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of Federal Education have been distributing laptops through on-campus ceremonies at NED University, Islamia University Bahawalpur, and other public universities since early 2026. The remaining unallocated laptops from this batch are reserved for students who apply and qualify by tonight.
Who can apply before the deadline
The eligibility bar is narrow on purpose. You qualify only if every box below is checked.
- You are enrolled in a public-sector university or HEC-recognised Degree Awarding Institute (DAI) — main campus or officially recognised sub-campus.
- You are pursuing a PhD, MS/MPhil (18-year equivalent), a 4-year or 5-year Bachelor’s, or a 3.5/2.5/1.5-year MBA.
- First-year students need at least 60% marks in Intermediate. Students in any other year need a minimum CGPA of 2.80 (semester system) or 60% (annual system).
- You are a Pakistani citizen or an AJK national.
- You have not previously received a laptop under any federal or provincial government scheme.
- Virtual University and AIOU students are eligible under a dedicated national quota.
Who gets rejected on the spot
- Enrolled in a private-sector university.
- Studying at an affiliated college or government degree college.
- Already received a laptop in any prior PM or CM phase.
- On a weekend or part-time programme.
- A foreign national (AJK is the only exception).
- Already graduated before the distribution ceremony — completing your degree removes you from the list, even if you were selected earlier.
How to apply in under 5 minutes
- Open laptop.pmyp.gov.pk on your phone or laptop.
- Click New Registration and enter your 13-digit CNIC (no dashes).
- Fill in your university name, enrolment number, degree, current semester, and CGPA or percentage.
- Upload a clear passport-size photograph and a scanned CNIC (front and back).
- Submit, then download your confirmation slip — you’ll need it for the on-campus distribution ceremony.
What happens if you miss tonight
Per the published HEC rules, the portal closes permanently at midnight on August 15, 2026. Unfilled seats roll into a separate merit-based waitlist for Phase V, which has not been formally announced and is contingent on a fresh federal cabinet approval. If history is any guide, waitlisted students from earlier phases are usually accommodated before any new cycle, but there is no guarantee.
