For getting aid in Punjab during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100,0000 people downloaded the Insaf Imdad app within three days developed for registration of the needy people who are affecting due to lockdown.
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had launched the Chief Minister Insaf Imdad Package to give assistance to the deserving peoples during the emergency in the province.
The Punjab government has decided to use the information technology To assure transparency of the system and assigned the Punjab Information and Technology Board (PITB) with developing the Insaf Imdad app, now accessible on Google Play Store.
The app is used for enrolling the needy families to apply for the chief minister aid by sending their information through it and via SMS.
the provincial government has so far collected a 11m requests from the residents, which are being processed for furth action. The citizens have three ways to file themselves till April 7 2020,
SMS (for citizens who do not have smartphones), online portals (for enrolling through the internet using smartphones or personal computers) and Android application (for registering through the smartphones).
The app is in the skyrocketing on the Google play store and has extended more than a million downloads in just a couple of days.
As per the programme details, the preliminary enrollment data will be stored on the PITB’s digital platform where after digital screening from several federal and provincial government databases (Nadra, BISP, AG Office, PLRA, Utilities and Excise and Taxation etc), it will be communicated with the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) for additional confirmation and processing.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) will send the data to the districts where district councils set up under the deputy commissioners will further assess the list and a conclusive list will be shared by the respective districts with the PDMA for distribution of the funds
The Shortlisted applicants will be informed of their selection on their individual mobile numbers, The PDMA and the finance department will make sure either only deserving people will get the benefit from the aid package.
All payments will be paid through the telecom companies against their CNIC through Easypaisa, Jazz Cash etc so the applicants can directly get the cash, instead of involvement of any government department people in cash distribution, to ensure the transparency.
To ensure the social distancing that people don’t gather at one place, which is very important and necessary for assessing the current COVID-19 emergency.
Meanwhile, on the Google Play Store, a number of people also argued about the bad working of the app and a number of mistakes. They pointed out difficulties in uploading their form and requested the authorities remedy the all problem as soon as possible.
This aid will not be distributed in the following people's
- An employee of any government /semi-government or any private sectors.
- Any other aid programs members.
- Who has the more than 10000 utility bills per month?
- Who has the registration of any vehicle (motorcycle, car, rikshaw, etc
