PDM long march halted over the registrations disagreement

The long march of the Pakistani Democratic Movement, scheduled for March 26, has been postponed due to disagreements of PPP (Pakistan People Party) on the issue of withdrawal from demonstrations along with the protest.

PDM Leader Molana Fazal Ur Rehman perspective

Today's a meeting took place between senior PDM leaders , after which Maulana Fazlur Rehman informed the media of the results of the discussions between the opposition parties.

Fazlur Rehman said the main point of contention between the alliance, the issue of a long march along with mass dismissals from rallies, was discussed today.

He said the OPS had raised concerns with the two family members and sought time to respond.

"They want a Central Business Committee meeting and come back to us," he said.
"Until then, the long march should be considered postponed," he said.

The PDM chief then suddenly left the meeting and left PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz to speak at the conference, flanked by PPP's Yousaf Raza Gillani.

PMNL Maryam Nawaz Perspective

Maryam said she doesn't want speculation to arise and then she won't talk about the time the PPP is pursuing.

However, she spoke of statements by PPP President Asif Ali Zardari that he had asked Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan and reportedly told him that the party's resignation would not be filed until he returned.

Maryam denied there was such an exchange, saying, "No, he didn't say that. He just said that Mian Sahab, you have to come back and everyone else so we can fight together."

She said she responded "very respectfully" by saying that Nawaz's return to Pakistan "would mean handing over his life to murderers who neither the PML-N leaders nor the electoral bench want from the party".

"And Pakistan doesn't want that either, because the people are investing in their leaders. The people want leaders who are alive and healthy," she said.

Maryam said she was much younger than the president of the PPP, adding very respectfully that "Mian Sahab's struggle and sacrifice is known to all and that he has served the longest and harshest prison sentence in this brutal and vengeful term of office of the incumbent. government ".

She said that "although he knew it was revenge", he left his ailing wife in London and returned to Pakistan with his daughter to be subjected to a "wrong cause" imprisonment.

He was bravely in prison and even had heart attacks, but tolerated them bravely. The government panicked when his life was in danger and they sent him abroad.

'But now that he's abroad and it's no good as a daughter, I don't think anyone has the right to call him back. I don't think if his life is saved by the grace of God, it should be brought back to this. murderers, ”said Maryam.

She said that "the government is dissolving, Insha Allah" and insisted that there would be a "unified PDM" in the media.

Maryam said that although Nawaz is abroad, his party is the most active in the country.

"The whole party is united under his leadership, steadfast and fighting. I am Nawaz Sharif's representative. If you want to talk to him, you have to talk to me first," she added.

PPP Yousaf Raza Gillani perspective

Gillani, who delivered the briefing, said he and his party thanked everyone for their help in the senatorial elections, where he defeated government-backed candidate Abdul Hafeez Shaik for the general seat in Islamabad.

He said the March 26 long march was "related to the layoffs" that the PPP had only seen for some time to consult the central affairs committee after initially voicing reservations about the move.

Gillani said the PPP told the PDM, "If you want us to resign, give us some time. We will return to the CEC, get your approval, and get back to you."

He said the CEC had previously stated that the opposition should come out of parliament.
“In the new scenario, PDM management unanimously asked the PPP to contact CEC” said Gillani.

He added that the decision will be announced "shortly".

Speaking of the opposition's decision to challenge senatorial elections, when seven votes were rejected by the president in his favor, Gillani said he himself said "go to court."

“We go to court, we get relief and we want to sit in the chair and it will be a win for the whole PDM,” he said.
