Pakistan decided on Saturday to reopen the Kartarpur corridor of Sikh pilgrims on June 29, 2020 on the anniversary of the death of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited the microblogging site Twitter to publish the announcement.
The minister stressed that Pakistan is ready to reopen the corridor for the Indian side.
The gang was temporarily closed earlier on March 16 due to the growing number of Covid 19 cases.
To ensure that the necessary precautions are taken, Pakistan has asked India to discuss the Standard Operating Instructions (SOP) for reopening.
As places of worship open up across the world, Pakistan prepares to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for all Sikh pilgrims, conveying to the Indian side our readiness to reopen the corridor on 29 June 2020, the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh.

The Kartarpur corridor was inaugurated on November 9, 2019 by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The opening of the hall for Baba Guru Nanak's 550th birthday fulfilled the long-awaited wish of Sikh supporters of the international community.
A statement from the State Department states that the Kartarpur corridor is a symbol of peace and religious harmony.
This government initiative is appreciated by the Sikh community around the world. The first guru of Sikhism, Baba Guru Nanak Saheb, had spent the last 18 years of his life in Kartarpur.
