The Prime Minister was also briefed on the duties of the NRTC, especially on the manufacture of locally made drones made against grasshoppers.

Just over 2.4 million hectares of land were sprayed with insecticides and pesticides to keep the attacks at bay. The actions were widely implemented in 41 districts of Pakistan. A total of 972 teams are actively involved in the campaign to free the country from the grasshopper attacks.

In all, 60 districts in all four of the country's provinces were affected by sprinkler attacks. These insects come from the desert and eat everything from back to seeds and flowers when traveling up to 93.2 miles per day. According to UN reports on food and agriculture (FAO), 38 percent of Pakistan's agricultural areas are breeding grounds for the insect.
