IBCC Karachi Office Implements QR Code Verification System | Latest News

The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Karachi office has taken a significant step towards digitizing its services by introducing the process of verification of credentials through Quick Response (QR) code.

The IBCC Secretary Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah made the announcement on Sunday via Twitter, stating that the process was inaugurated at the regional office and would reduce people's worries while ensuring transparency.

The move comes after the IBCC offices in Islamabad and Lahore already started the process of verifying documents via QR codes. The introduction of the QR code verification system will eliminate the need for institutions to reach out to the IBCC for verification, as all the information will be available on the QR. With this new system, institutions and universities within or outside the country will be able to self-verify students’ credentials through mobile phones.

The IBCC secretary also highlighted that the QR code verification system would close all avenues of fake authentication as this ticket cannot be used by anyone else. The previously used stickers could be taken off and put on other documents, which increased the risk of forgery. The QR code, however, will preclude the possibility of students faking their verification, providing a more secure and tamper-proof system.

The process will save the millions of rupees the IBCC spent on printing tickets, and it will also reduce the administrative workload on the IBCC staff, who were previously tasked with verifying documents. The introduction of this new system aligns with the IBCC's efforts to automate all its processes to ensure transparency and improve efficiency in service delivery.

Dr Mallah further added that the introduction of the QR code verification system would make it easier for institutions and universities to verify the credentials of students. With the QR code, institutions will be able to verify the authenticity of students' credentials by scanning the QR code on their certificates or documents, without the need for any additional documentation or communication with the IBCC.

To ensure the quality of equivalence certificates, QR codes were printed on these certificates earlier in 2020. The IBCC announced the online verification of equivalency and attestation of certificates to automate all its processes, ensuring transparency and improving efficiency in service delivery.

The introduction of the QR code verification system will provide a more streamlined and efficient process for institutions and students. It will eliminate the need for physical verification of documents and reduce the administrative burden on IBCC staff. The new system will also prevent any potential for fraud and ensure transparency in the verification process.

IBCC Karachi office's introduction of the QR code verification system for credentials is a significant step towards digitizing its services and improving efficiency. The new system will save millions of rupees, reduce the administrative burden, and provide a more secure and tamper-proof method of verification for students' credentials.

The system aligns with the IBCC's efforts to automate all its processes to ensure transparency and improve efficiency in service delivery, making the verification process more convenient and accessible for institutions and students alike.
