300 Pakistani Students are feeling helpless in Bangladesh due to COVID-19 pandemic across the country, they have very limited access for the food and essential items, they are more concerned about their health because of fragile health care system of Bangladesh.
Life seems like an endless nightmare to over 300 Pakistani students studying in Bangladesh as part of the SAARC scholarship program.
"I lived in a youth hostel in Rajshahi and after my classmates from their respective countries India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka were evacuated, I was transferred to a youth hostel in Dhaka," said Rija Hameed, a medical student, talking to Pakistani Media.
Most of the students, both men and women, said the lack of access to food amid a blockade in the country combined with Bangladesh's sensitive health system had made them nervous. "We live on bread and jam for days, or just on cookies," says Rija.
Bangladesh has reported 218 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 20 deaths to date, and there are fears that it will spread rapidly in the densely populated country, whose weak health systems are quickly overwhelming, Reuters said.
Informed sources that the Prime Minister's public affairs and complaints had sent the Foreign Minister a request from the father of a Pakistani student in Bangladesh to take immediate measures to evacuate them as soon as possible.

A spokeswoman for Foreign Minister Aisha Farooqui said she would be able to do this as soon as she received a report on the situation at the Pakistani High Commission in Dhaka.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms such as fever and cough, and the vast majority survive. But for others, especially the elderly and people with pre-existing health conditions, this can be more serious and even lead to pneumonia or death.
