PM urges the Development of IT sector advised to establish IT Clusters

The Prime Minister of Pakistan said, the development of the information and technology sector is a top priority. He recently ordered authorities to set up IT clusters in major cities across the country.

It said the Prime Minister while chairing a meeting to promote IT in Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Information Technology Minister Syed Aminul Haque, Shibli Faraz, Industry Minister Mohammed Hammad Azhar, Adviser to Prime Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.

And Abdul Razak Dawood, Hussain Shahbaz Gill, some Federal Secretaries, Chairman of FBR, Governor State Bank of , part of Pakistan and spokesperson for several companies in the IT sector.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the details of IT’s role in the economy, exports and the problems of the development of the sector. The Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue has been mandated by the Prime Minister to prioritize corporate tax issues in the IT sector.

He said the country’s youth had tremendous IT potential and that the development of the sector would not only help young adults reach their potential and create jobs, but also increase the country’s exports.

The Ministry of IT has developed an integrated system with industry specialists and stakeholders. The right of way of the directive is in its final phase and will shortly be submitted to the cabinet for approval.

Imran Khan was announced that export services in FY 2019 and 2020 were $ 1.23 billion from $ 995 million earlier, up 23.7%.

Officials have also informed the prime minister of the initiated youth qualification programs. At the same time, a platform was established for effective connections between educational institutions, industrial sectors and government agencies.

The Digital Skill Training program provides training in information and technology to more than 1 billion young people.

In addition, 159 startups from five national incubation centers have completed their training and are ready to come out. The spokesperson for several IT companies eventually came up with proposals that could contribute to the development of the sector
