Petroleum division and LMKR all set to launch Exploration Management System dashboard

As Prime Minister's vision for the digitization of Pakistan, the Petroleum Department, in partnership with LMKR, a petroleum technology company, has developed for the first time an advanced and innovative Exploration Management dashboard application for efficient management and monitoring of E&P information in the country.

Federal Minister of Energy Omar Ayub Khan and Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Oil Nadeem Babar and Minister of Petroleum oversaw the project to update it within the stated timeframe in accordance with the high calibration.

It is worth noting that despite the limitations of COVID, this project was carried out without additional funds, IT equipment or external / foreign support. The petroleum division also appreciates the professional support of Mr. Mian Mohsin Hameed, Energy Task Force member, who led the project.

The Exploration Management System (EMS) is essentially a Windows-based, multi-user GIS database program that allows the Petroleum Concession Directorate to access E&P data in real time. This helps officials to take action / decisions quickly if production is reduced, wells are suspended, wells are closed and wells are delayed due to technical or operational issues.

Advanced data filtering tools provide the ability to customize the query to display historical and current E&P activity, as well as company / pool / country information. Output reports in the form of PDF, Excel spreadsheets and GIS level can be extracted from this application for any standard or custom search.

The Planned and Actual Gaps dashboard helps monitor business performance against plans and commitments.

The production dashboard helps to monitor the daily / weekly production of wells and fields for any company or for all companies. Using this dashboard will help increase oil and gas production by taking appropriate action and corrective action if production is reduced or stopped for any reason.

DGPC can use this dashboard to set KPIs (key performance indicators) and performance benchmarking of E&P companies. This makes it easier for E&P companies to do business and complies with the rules and obligations laid down in the relevant agreements.

The EMS Dashboard is a great initiative for digital transformation, data analysis, data mining and data learning. This leads us to data-driven decisions and implementations.

The petroleum division is committed to continuous improvement and advancement in the E&P sector as domestic gas and oil production will ultimately contribute to the growth of the country's economy.
