Pakistan to develop tourists points to reflect culture and social values

Prime Minister Imran Khan says Pakistan has enormous tourism potential and our goal is to develop tourist attractions that reflect our culture and social values.

At a high-level meeting to promote tourism in the country of Islamabad, he said today (Wednesday) that promoting tourism would speed up the economic process and create jobs for the people.

The Prime Minister ordered the immediate implementation of a strategy and plan for the promotion and development of tourist destinations.

He also stressed the need to take effective steps to make positive use of state property, including historic buildings, guest houses and governors.

On the orders of the Prime Minister, it was decided to set up a national coordination committee to promote tourism and improve interaction and coordination between the provinces.

It was also decided to establish a tourist authority in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the earliest.

The Prime Minister ordered regular NCC meetings.

Imran Khan was informed that the national tourism strategy for the next 10 years had been completed and an action plan had been drawn up.
