Pakistan Railways has officially announced revised working hours for reservation offices across the country during the holy month of Ramadan.
The changes, which will be in effect until the 15th of Ramadan, are aimed at ensuring convenience for passengers and staff while maintaining efficient railway operations.
Revised Working Hours for Reservation Offices
According to an official notification issued on Friday, the new operating schedule for reservation offices is as follows:
- Morning Shift: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Evening Shift: 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM
- Friday Break for Juma Prayers: 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
- Single-Shift Offices: No changes in working hours
These updated timings will remain in effect until the 15th of Ramadan, after which all offices will revert to their regular schedules.
While the Sir Syed Express has been suspended, Pakistan Railways has resumed operations of the Shah Hussain Express, bringing relief to travelers commuting between Karachi and Lahore.
Shah Hussain Express Route and Schedule
The Shah Hussain Express has been reinstated with the following schedule:
- Departure from Karachi Cantonment Station: 7:30 PM
- Arrival in Lahore: 2:15 PM (the following day)
The train makes strategic stops at key cities, including:
- Hyderabad
- Rohri
- Bahawalpur
- Lodhran
- Khanewal
- Faisalabad
For the return journey, the train will depart from Lahore at 7:00 PM and is scheduled to arrive in Karachi at 2:05 PM.
Coach Composition of Shah Hussain Express
The revived service comprises the following passenger accommodations:
- 10 Economy-Class Coaches
- 2 AC Business-Class Coaches
- 2 AC Standard-Class Coaches
- 1 Power Plant Car
- 1 Brake Van
