Another young Pakistani student made the nation proud. Umair Masood received Lab Roots' Young Scientist Award 2021 for his outstanding contribution to molecular diagnostic engineering at the seventh annual conference in Australia earlier this month.
Pakistani student Umair Masood received the "Young Scientist Award 2021" from Lab Roots for his outstanding contribution to molecular diagnostic techniques.
Students from 121 countries participated in this event with Pakistan coming out on top.

Young Umair is a student of COMSATS, and hails from Havelian, Abbotabad.

The conference took place earlier this month and was attended by students from 121 countries around the world.

Masood, a student at Comsat University in Abbottabad, presented two research papers at the International Conference on Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in Australia and the 13th International Conference on Tissue and Regenerative Medicine in the United States Masood said he won the award with 336 voters.

He said young students from Israel and Germany got 264 and 164 voters, respectively.
"Thank you to Allah Almighty and my parents for receiving this prestigious award for my contribution to the field of biotechnology," said Masood.
In his research, Masood explained that people with inherited diseases could have their illnesses diagnosed quickly and inexpensively, while preserving and transferring the genes from one living being to another.
Masood was struggling go get admission in Pakistan University's as he completed his intermediate but unfortunately he scored less numbers and was unable to fulfil the universities requirements.
Umair Masood started to learn from the online education institute who were offering the free of cost education.
While his online classes duration, Masood interacted with Jackson laboratories, they were working on low cost mutation detection system and Masood won the gold medal in this project.
