The Pakistan Higher Education Commission (HEC) has signed an agreement with Microsoft to provide students with a home platform certification for Microsoft certifications.
The certification will be made available for free to the first 2,000 students who sign up for the opportunity, says a press release released on Sunday.
The certification platform provides students with a prescribed roadmap curriculum for technology skills development and certification. Specific areas of study within the certification scope include productivity, computer science, computer science, and information technology infrastructure.
In addition, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications provide useful references for people who want to validate their skills and advance their careers.
The exams covered included Office 365, basic cloud courses on Azure basics, Dynamics 365 basics, and Microsoft 365 basics.
"Digital transformation has been a leader in every industry in recent years and education is no different," said HEC President Dr. Tariq Banuri.

He said that while HEC worked with Microsoft, it was possible to bring some tools and technology offerings that can help create a technology-rich culture in the country's higher education sector.
He added that the ability for students to acquire more advanced skills not only helps them in their career, but also strengthens the technical potential of Pakistani industry and science.
Jibran Jamshad, head of Microsoft-Pakistani National Education, responded to the agreement, saying that the modern workplace requires adaptability for frequent technological changes and problem-solving strategies, and this platform will help students learn such skills.
“The many different skills you can learn in the Microsoft Certification Program allow you to demonstrate your flexibility to current and potential employers. These references demonstrate that you can use different strategies to solve problems and to address the concerns of consumers and stakeholders more effectively, ”he said.
He added that the agreement is an important step in bridging education and employability and helping students acquire professional skills while having more time during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Microsoft and HEC have been working together in a strategic partnership for the past decade to promote the use of information technology in higher education.
The partnership includes all public and private universities in the country with multiple programs to enhance the skills of young people and provide them with more platforms to build their capacity and demonstrate their technical potential at global level.
Many students have found that they have more time during the long pause of COVID-19, which can give them room to focus on developing marketable skills beyond theoretical knowledge.
With the home platform certification, students can easily choose the technology field they choose and learn at home with detailed tutorials and take tutorial videos and exams.
