Central Bureau of Reimbursement (CITRO) launched by FBR for tax refund payments

In line with the Prime Minister's vision of maximizing the taxpayer, and under the leadership of the President of the FBR, a Central Bureau of Reimbursements (CITRO) has been established at the FBR.

To assist taxpayers in the immediate release of income tax refunds to facilitate access and make it transparent in their bank accounts. This works automatically everywhere.

Member IR (Operations) kicked off the launch of CITRO Wednesday by addressing the first batch of income tax refund claims through a dedicated VPN tunnel between FBR and Pakistan's state bank.

In fact, this is another milestone that the organization has achieved through the unremitting efforts of the IR Operations members and the FBR IT members.

This system would eliminate human interaction between the tax authorities and taxpayers and quickly provide business relief.

FBR is in the process of taking this automation process to the next level by establishing connections between all federal and state departments and a large number of owners so that compensation claims can also be assessed and processed in a machine-based environment.
