TikTok was primarily a platform for entertainment and social interaction, but that will change soon with an upcoming update. The social media giant has announced it will launch TikTok for Business, which will serve as a brand marketing solution.
TikTok for Business provides brands and advertisers with tools to connect with the TikTok community through storytelling as they collaborate with developers through the Creator Marketplace. Brands can also find suitable partners for advertising campaigns.
Brands can access TopView so they can place their ads on the main screen of the TikTok app. Other products the app will offer include brand acquisitions, in-feed videos, hashtag challenges, and brand effects.

Brand acquisition is 3 to 5 second ads that can be images or videos. In-feed videos can be up to 60 seconds long and contain audio. Hashtag challenges allow brands to invite TikToker to create content from a hashtag of their choice.
Branded Effects allows you to add products or brands directly to TikTok videos in a 2D, 3D or new AR format. The new AR format allows brands to add personal effects to brands and products, in the foreground or background of the video.
Aside from the new AR format, most marketing products are already offered by TikTok. With the introduction of TikTok for Business, all these tools are organized under one roof and also serve as a place for the introduction of new products after the introduction.
In addition, the social media giant plans to set up a new learning center soon, where marketers can learn more about TikTok's ad offering and help them launch successful campaigns.
Katie Puris, TikTok's general manager of global business marketing, said in a statement:
With the introduction of TikTok For Business, we decided to use the creative, positive and real moments that make our community so special with solutions that allow businesses to connect and grow with our wonderfully expressive community.
