Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar, announced on Thursday that the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved four projects worth $ 289 billion including Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway.
In a series of tweets, the minister said that the projects approved at Thursday's meeting included the Sukkur-Hyderabad highway, M-8 section Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar, Swat highway (from Chakdara to Fatehpur), and Khyber highway include. Pass the financial corridor.
The minister said the land acquisition process for the Sukkur-Hyderabad highway had already been completed at a cost of Rs 24 billion. "Now ECNEC has approved the construction of the highway through the Build Operate Transfer (BOT) structure at an estimated cost of Rs16 billion," he added.

The hoshab-awaran segment of M 8 motorway will further enhance connectivity of Balochistan, and play an important role in providing connectivity to the future trade thru gwadar with central Pakistan.

He said the Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar segment of the M-8 Motorway would further improve the Balochistan connection and play an important role in facilitating Gwadar's future trade with central Pakistan.
The minister also announced that the Swat Highway from Chakdara would be widened to Fatehpur via Saidu Sharif Mingora, Matta, Khawazakhela. "This will help unleash the economic and tourist potential of this beautiful region."
He said the extension of the economic corridor project in Khyber Pass would connect the Peshawar-Torkham trunk road and the N-55 in Badabher.
