Prime Minister Imran Khan has confirmed the government's willingness to take strict measures against those involved in human smuggling, hoarding and illegal profits harming the economy.
Prior to an audit meeting, he spoke of measures taken to prevent smuggling, limit supplies and eradicate the grasshopper in Islamabad. The prime minister said that elements involved in such a crime must be immediately identified and punished in accordance with the relevant laws to stop such acts.
He said the poor are burdened by a lack of artificial goods and illegal price increases due to smuggling and hoarding. The prime minister also said that the services should be used by intelligence agencies to identify smugglers and hamsters.
He instructed all relevant departments to use honest and dutiful officials to ensure the prevention of such illegal activities. He said the situation should be monitored on a daily basis and administrative negligence cannot be acknowledged.
Imran Khan emphasized the need for a comprehensive and effective strategy for obtaining wheat targets in a timely manner and said that every possible step should be taken to give people wheat and flour.
He described grasshopper attacks on crops as a major problem for the post-coronavirus land and called for a willingness to control and eradicate the grasshopper and remove all obstacles and difficulties in this regard.
The meeting was briefed on measures to combat smuggling, stockings and grasshopper removal.
The Prime Minister also led the timely provision of the necessary resources and the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for the elimination of locusts.
