Sardar Abubakr joins the Jazz Cash as Chief Financial and Strategy Officer after leaving the telenor micro finance generally known as Telenor EasyPaisa.
Telenor's management went through major changes a few weeks ago, when the top hierarchy was mixed up and a few new people were added to the senior positions. One of the changes involved the departure of Sardar Abubakr from Telenor Pakistan. The recent announcement of Mobilink Microfinance Bank shows that he has joined the company as Chief Financial and Strategy Officer.

Mobilink Microfinance Bank, or colloquially known as JazzCash, has stepped up its efforts to conquer the mobile payments segment, but faces fierce competition from EasyPaisa, U Microfinance Bank, and others. The top of Mobilink Microfinance Bank is currently made up of experienced professionals, including Ghazanfar Azzam, who has been CEO and President since April 2012.
Faisal Mehmood leads the digital and technology segment of the bank, while Muhammad Rizwan Ikram currently serves as Chief Risk Officer and also Deputy Director until recently Sardar Abubakr joined.
Regarding the profile of Sardar Abubakr, he spent more than 10 years in various positions at Telenor, initially as Assistant Manager Finance. Most recently, he served as Chief Digital and Strategy Officer at the company.
The reorganization of Telenor's management followed a disappointing quarter, with sales declining 11% and the company's operations impacted by COVID-19.
