Apple is set to introduce a major design overhaul with its upcoming iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models, aiming to boost sales in key markets like China.

According to newly leaked CAD renders, shared by renowned leaker Sonny Dickson, the iPhone 17 lineup will feature a brand-new camera bar, a thinner design, and a fresh mix of aluminum and glass.

iPhone 17 Pro to Feature a Camera Bar

One of the biggest changes in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup is the introduction of a camera bar, replacing the traditional square camera module. The camera bar will extend across the back, housing:

Triple-lens camera system
LiDAR scanner
LED flash
Microphone

The aluminum and glass build signals Apple’s commitment to a more lightweight and durable design. However, it remains unclear whether these changes are purely aesthetic or intended to improve camera performance and durability.

Apple is also launching a new model the iPhone 17 Air which will be an ultra-thin device with a single-lens 48MP camera housed inside a camera bar.

However, this model will not support spatial video recording, as that requires a dual-camera setup.

A Familiar Yet Improved Design

For users who prefer a traditional look, the standard will retain a vertical dual-camera setup while supporting spatial video recording.

This could make it a strong choice for consumers who don’t need the high-end Pro features but still want the latest Apple technology.

Launch Date and Availability

As the launch date approaches, more details on features, pricing, and availability will emerge.

With a bold new design, an ultra-thin model, and an improved camera system, Apple is making significant changes to the iPhone lineup.

The camera bar and premium build materials could be a game-changer, especially in competitive markets like China, where local brands are gaining traction.
