Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme through a digital balloting process.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide free solar systems to eligible households, helping them tackle high electricity costs and transition to renewable energy.
To reduce reliance on expensive grid electricity and promote clean energy, the Punjab government has launched this solar subsidy program.
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:
Electricity Consumption: Must use up to 200 units per month
Valid CNIC & Reference Number: Must have a registered electricity meter
Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Punjab
Ownership: The applicant should own the property or have legal proof of residence
Important Note: Households consuming more than 200 units per month are NOT eligible for this scheme.
In Phase 1, the Punjab government will install 94,483 solar systems across the province, divided into two categories:
47,182 solar systems of 0.55 kW
47,301 solar systems of 1.1 kW
How to Apply for CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme?
The application process for the free solar panel scheme is as follows:
Step 1: Submit Your Application
Households must submit their applications through the designated government portal or energy department offices.
Step 2: Digital Balloting Process
Eligible applicants are selected through automated digital balloting, ensuring transparency and fair distribution.
Step 3: Physical Verification
Energy department officials will verify applicant details before installation begins.
Step 4: Installation & Activation
Once verified, installation will begin by March-end, with the first phase completing by July 2024.
How to Check Eligibility?
Applicants can verify their status using their CNIC and reference number on their monthly electricity bill.
