The Government of Punjab has taken a significant step towards promoting education and digital literacy by launching the Chief Minister’s Laptop Program 2024–25.

Under this groundbreaking initiative, 110,000 laptops will be distributed to talented students across the province. This bold move underscores Punjab’s commitment to empowering the youth with the necessary tools to excel in the digital age.

Eligibility Criteria for Chief Minister’s Laptop Program 2024–25

The initiative specifically targets students enrolled in public sector universities, colleges, and medical institutions within Punjab.

  • Students must be currently enrolled in a public sector educational institution.
  • Applicants must have an excellent academic record as per the institution’s merit list.
  • Biometric verification is mandatory through NADRA’s e-Sahulat Centers.

By focusing on merit and transparency, the Punjab government aims to provide laptops to the most dedicated and hardworking students. A crucial condition for receiving the laptops is biometric verification at designated NADRA e-Sahulat Centers.

  • NADRA officers will conduct thumb impression verification at the designated institutions.
  • The verification services commenced on April 24, 2025.

First Phase Laptop Distribution Ceremony

In the first phase of the program, approximately 7,000 students from selected universities and colleges will receive their laptops. A special distribution ceremony has been scheduled for April 30, 2025, where deserving students will be honored for their achievements.

The Higher Education Department (HED) of Punjab plays a central role in the successful implementation of this program.
