PM Imran Khan shuffled Cabinet Minister portfolios

The cabinet reshuffle was announced on Prime Minister Office official tweet that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan office has published important changes in their federal cabinet minister and has also altered some high profile officials including the Chief of Federal Board of Revenue.

As the COVID-19 outbreak across the country, cabinet changes outbreak announced by the government.Prime minister Imran Khan has made some breaking changes in the federal cabinet.


The cabinet changes are being linked to the inquiry reports of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), recently shared by the director general Wajid Zia ,which revealed interest of some ministers and senior officials from the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in the sugar and wheat shortage emergency in the country.


Following major changes are reported


Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Makdoum Khusro Bakhtiar resigned from the ministry and has now been nominated as minister for economic affairs, in the replacement of Hamad Azhar.


• Hamad Azhar has been appointed as Minister for Industries in Pakistan
• Syed Fakhar Imam has been appointed as Federal Minister for National Food Security
• Babar Awan has been nominated as Adviser for Parliamentary Affairs replacing the federal minister Mr Azam Swati.
• Azam Swati has been nominated for the Minister of Narcotics control.
• Mohammad Shahzad Arbab has been removed as Adviser to the premier on accountability.
• Aminul Haq has been nominated for the Federal Minister for Telecommunication
• MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s resignation as federal IT minister was also approved.
• Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Establishment, Shehzad Arbab, has been wiped out from his position
• Omar Hameed has been nominated as Secretary Ministry of National Food Security
• The Chairman of FBR, Shabbar Zaidi has also been removed as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman with immediate effect, and the Ms Nausheen Javaid Amjad has been appointed the new chairperson of FBR.
