P for Pakao YouTube channel get hit by FBR for Tax evasion

P for Pakao a famous YouTube Channels get hit by FBR Federal board of revenue for income tax evasion.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) dispatched a Rs. 13 million rupees income tax notice to a popular YouTuber, Nadir Ali. The Karachi-based YouTuber is accused of hiding of revenue.

Nadir, holds a YouTube channel named ‘P for Pakao’ based on short joke videos has more than 820 million views in total. His channel moreover has over 3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

It was not obvious as to when the inquiry against him was begun. Nonetheless, the sources close to the issue said that the Intelligence and Investigation Department of FBR has concluded the inquiries against him. The object has now been cited to the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Tax Office (RTO)-III in Karachi for recovery of the tax evasion.

The FBR officials said that Nadir was attended to multiple notices during the inquiry, but he did not answer back to any of them. As the case has been dispatched, now he can plea before the Commissioner Appeals in the RTO office.

Nadir verified receiving the notice and said that he had reacted through his lawyer and documented the plea for an expansion in the time to fulfill a reply, and his plea was approved.

Nadir enrolled his channel with the FBR on October 2017. For the first two years, 2016 and 2017, he indicated no income and for the next two years, he proclaimed Rs. 0.89 million and Rs. 14.44 million respectively.

However, the income board understands that Nadir has not submitted his full report of his earnings and has hide a substantial part for tax incentives.


As per FBR references, he received Rs. 2.186 million in the year 2017, Rs. 28.335 million in 2018 and 46.762 million in 2019. The facts have been assessed with YouTube.

Also, he earned Rs. 10 million in foreign exchange during the year he claimed privilege without furnishing the evidence. At the same moment, he retained a bank account that was not acknowledged in the wealth declaration form.

It is the first case of its type, where FBR has taken off online content authors for not announcing their online revenue for tax goals.
Nadir’s case is a wakeup call for several other YouTubers, Vloggers and online content makers who are earning a large income online, they should start filing tax returns before FBR take on them.

It is confirmed that incomes made by online mean are taxable and records need to be protected for five years and should be filed in the annual tax return filings.
