Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced on Sunday that it will operate direct flights from Karachi to Skardu.
Arshad Malik, PIA operations manager, instructed the PIA sales director to arrange direct flights between the two cities, as per Media reports.

The national carrier operates Airbus 320 for the bi-weekly flights between the southern port city of Karachi and Skardu.
It was reportedly decided that flights to Islamabad International Airport would be diverted in bad weather.
According to a PIA spokesperson, residents of Gilgit Baltistan in Karachi will have special facilities to take the direct flight from Karachi to Skardu.
Prior to this announcement, a daily flight from Islamabad to Skardu was already in use.
