Pakistan cannot afford complete lockdown said Shibli Faraz

Newly oathed Information and Broadcasting Minister Shibli Faraz said The Pakistan cannot afford to be completely lockdown because of the economic situation, and even the developed world chose the intelligent block to keep their economic wheels spinning.

He said that the federal government adopted the concept of smart blocking under Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision to protect day-to-day operations and workers from the impact of the corona virus.

The minister replied to a question that consultations with the opposition on the normal procedure for convening the parliamentary assembly are at an advanced stage.

The government wanted to hold both the National Assembly and the Senate meetings, but it was important to take precautions in the current situation when NA spokesperson Asad Qaiser has also diagnosed with a coronavirus infection.

He said it is important to convene meetings of both parliamentary chambers because it is necessary to pass certain bills that will expire.

Regarding the situation in occupied Kashmir, the he said that the government has effectively emphasized the ongoing dispute in world forums, including the United Nations. Prime Minister Imran Khan had raised his vote for Kashmir in all relevant forums and his address to the General Assembly on the subject had become part of the story.

The opposition was an integral part of the political system, and the government welcomed its constructive criticism, which proved helpful in improving the level of government and transparency. The opposition must play its part in democratic norms and values, he noted.

In response to a question, he said that the employee improvement policy has been formulated and that outstanding payments to media houses have been made on a war basis. Within the scope of the Directive, the payment of outstanding salaries to workers would be ensured by the management of the media houses

Shibli Faraz answered a question that the Prime Minister had the privilege of changing his team members, taking into account the situation and interests of the country. He made a commitment to reshape the Ministry of Information to meet modern needs and broaden the scope of the project's national interests and image.
