Pakistan has restricted the arrival of passengers from six countries for fear of a new strain of coronavirus spreading, the civil aviation authority said Friday.
Countries include South Africa, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Ireland, Portugal and the Netherlands. According to the CAA, passengers from these countries declared "Category C" require a special permit from the National Command and Operations Center.

The decision aims to contain the new virus strain in Pakistan. Passengers from Category A countries including Australia, China, Cuba, Finland, Ghana, Iceland, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, South Korea, Saudi Arabia , Singapore, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam do not need to undergo coronavirus testing before arriving in Pakistan.
Travelers from all other countries falling into Category B must undergo a coronavirus test at least 72 hours before arriving in Pakistan.
