Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar as the new Chief of the Air Force.
According to the Prime Minister's spokesman, Air Marshal Zaheeruddin Babar has been appointed Air Chief in place of Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar.
The Prime Minister's spokesman said the Air Marshal would be promoted to the rank of Air Chief Marshal.
He was a graduate of Combat Commanders' School, Air War College and the Royal College of Defense Studies in the United Kingdom and was also an extraordinary secretary to the Ministry of Defense.

For his outstanding achievements he was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (military) and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (military) by the president of Pakistan Mr Arif Alvi.
