Advisor to prime minister imran Khan for Finance and Revenue, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said that fuel prices across the country would drop from May 1.
The economic advisor said the government planned to announce the budget for the next fiscal year in the first week of June and that it would be a coronavirus budget.
Shaikh also said ,We want to exempt small dealers from paying three months of electricity bill," Hafeez Shaikh said, adding that the government has already paid out money to less than 12 million people in the country.
OGRA has recommended the fuel price reduction, for petrol 20.68 PKR/litre , Diesel 33.94 rupees/litre and the kerosene 44.7 Rupees per litre.
All price reduction summary sent to Prime minister Imran Khan ,after the reduction approval, prices will be applicable on 1 May 2020.
Hafeez said ,Pakistan Govt want to announce support for the four million people who have become unemployed as a result of the coronavirus lockdown," Hafeez Shaikh said, adding that working side by side with the pandemic and the economy is a top priority.
Sahikh said that when they took office they were in a difficult financial situation and even had to increase the budget of the armed forces to overcome the financial problems.
