The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has revised its decision to suspend operations of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for six months and allowed the flag carrier to continue its flights until July 3.
The renewed decision was announced by the European Union Aviation Authority, following efforts by the Secretary of State, who immediately contacted ambassadors in all EU countries after EASA's flight operations were suspended.
However, EASA has authorized PIA to operate flights in the countries for a limited period until July 3.
PIA spokesperson Abdullah Khan said in a statement that the flag carrier can land and fly until further orders are placed in the UK (UK) and European countries.

He added that the PIA administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ambassadors were in contact with EU officials to address their concerns. Flights between Islamabad and London are being routinely operated, with several flight plans to be announced soon, the spokesman added.
Earlier in the day, the European Union's Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) announced that it would halt flight operations of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to Europe for safety reasons. According to EASA's announcement, the suspension went into effect on Wednesday for the next six months.
All PIA flights to Europe will be suspended after the order is placed because the national airline has asked passengers to either refund their tickets or extend them to a later date.
EASA wrote to the flag carrier, saying that it had suspended PIA approval for PIA after failing to comply with the proposed remedial action plan (GAP).
At the June and September 2019 meetings, six findings were found with PIA officers, five of which were implemented, while another was not implemented regarding elements of a security management system.
