Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the Honhaar Scholarship Program, extending educational support to students from all provinces of Pakistan. This initiative aims to promote merit-based scholarships, free laptops, and financial aid for deserving students.
During a high-level meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz made the following important decisions:
- 110,000 laptops will be distributed to students in Punjab.
- Students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive equal scholarship opportunities.
- Merit-based students applying to top colleges will have their fees covered by the Punjab Government.
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships & Laptops
The eligibility criteria for students from other provinces will be the same as those in Punjab:
Minimum 65% marks to qualify for a laptop.
Scholarships based on merit and financial need.
Students pursuing higher education in recognized institutions.
Government’s Commitment to Education
CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that education and youth development are the true investment for Pakistan’s future. She assured that funding will not be a hurdle in ensuring equal educational opportunities for students nationwide.
Additionally, the Punjab Government has approved a one-day Vice-Chancellors’ Conference and a Tech Expo to boost educational and technological advancements.
