In comparison, Amazon has released a relatively new technology, sound analysis, which is used to monitor the sound of users during calls. When this setting is on, a microphone in the band listens to detect emotions such as happiness, confusion, or affection in the speaker tone.
It remains to be seen whether consumers will use this feature or raise privacy concerns. According to Amazon, the technology is designed to protect privacy.
The company said the waterproof tape with a battery life of up to 7 days also includes an accelerometer, temperature sensor, heart rate monitor and can measure body fat percentage.
Owned by the alphabet, Google is also making strides in the fitness market. Google announced in November that it would buy Fitbit for $ 2.1 billion, a deal that is currently under scrutiny.
The market is also filled with cheaper deals from Huawei and Xiaomi Corp. pressure from China.
