10,000 Pakistani Terminated from their jobs amid COVID-19

Pakistani consul general in Dubai confirmed that around 10,000 Pakistanis worker unemployed from their jobs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to coronavirus spell, which has provoked the world economy to a gridlock.

Consul General Ahmed Amjad Ali said,Around 35,000 Pakistanis have reported with the consulate in Dubai in a request to come back their homes in Pakistan.

They confirmed “Visitors, jobless and the old aged will be given priority ” he said describing the criteria for the evacuation, The officials of consul said that all necessary action are in progress to bring back them in Pakistan.

Ali said that screening criteria have been finalized for the travelers at the Dubai airport.He put in that making these Pakistanis back to their homeland in such big numbers is a big challenge for them.

Meanwhile, Dubai government have declared that they are ready to regulate flight operation for the Pakistanis and waiting for approval from CAA of Pakistan in this concern.

Dubai based,Gulf News newspaper initial reported that hundreds of Pakistanis accumulated outside the consulate on Sunday for the registration, despite the fact the emirate-wide lockdown.

It is relevant to illustrate here that Pakistan is a large labour supplier to the UAE, with more than a million Pakistanis residents and working in the country, as per the Pakistani ambassadors.
Back March, Dubai has been under lockdown as the UAE accelerated the measures to prevent the pandemic condition across the country.

In March, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Imran Khan on National Security Division Moeed Yusuf had convinced the community that the administration was in contact with the governments of those countries where Pakistani passengers are stuck in transit due to flight operation suspensions.
