Younis Khan wants Babar Azam to become a legendary cricketer, but also finds it unreasonable to compare him to Indian captain Virat Kohli.
In an exclusive conversation with Cricket Pakistan, Khan said he wants Azam to play an important role in Pakistan’s victories.
“It is unfair to compare Babar Azam to Virat Kohli because he has been playing international cricket for over a decade. Babar has only been playing 4-5 years now,” said Khan. “We should give Babar space and not pressure him of expectations I want Babar to become a legendary cricketer and lead his team to victories.

He also spoke about his appointment as a Pakistani coach and the warm welcome he received from everyone.
“It is a blessing that I have been warmly welcomed by everyone and that I enjoy working in this environment,” he said. “The trip to England is also important because everyone follows the series closely, so I am interested in making a difference through my experience.”
“For a few days, I considered serving effectively in this role and making my country proud. Just like in a movie where a hero comes back and shows what leads to a happy ending, ‘he added.
He also insisted on the idea that there will be a clash of personalities due to the presence of big names in the coaching staff.
“I don’t think there will be a clash of personalities because I’ve worked and played with current coaches in the past and we get along very well.” So the collaboration benefits the team more than the other way around, ”he said.

Younis, who was only named as a landmark coach for the tour of England, also said he will prove himself before getting an extended contract.
“I want to prove myself first, and if I can, I hope to be rewarded with an extended contract,” he said. “I am lucky enough to share the dressing room with the players again, since I only retired two to three years ago.”
“Pakistan and India have to play bilateral series regularly because fans on both sides of the border love to see them play,” he said. “My career completely changed after the 2005 series against India, where I did very well. It also helped me get a county deal. “
He also called for the resumption of Indo-Pak cricket, emphasizing the impact on his career.
