Université Paris-Saclay Offering 10,000 Euros Scholarship for Pakistani Students

Université Paris-Saclay is offering scholarships worth 10,000 Euros for Pakistani students who wish to pursue a Master's program. The aim is to facilitate access to its Master's programs for international students and make it easier for highly qualified students to join the University, particularly those with a research-based academic project.

The scholarship program is funded by the IDEX (Initiative d'Excellence) funding of the 3rd Programme Investissements d'Avenir. The scholarships are available for the 2023-2024 academic year and are based on academic achievements.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to students who have been admitted to a Master's program delivered by one of the following institutions:

  • AgroParisTech
  • CentraleSupelec
  • Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay (ENS Paris-Saclay)
  • INSTN-CEA
  • Institut d'Optique Graduate School (IOGS)
  • Université d'Evry-Val-d'Essonne (UEVE)
  • Université Paris-Saclay (UPSaclay)
  • Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ)

In addition, students must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Newly arrived international students, aged 30 or younger during the selection year
  • Students of foreign nationality living in France for less than a year, previously or currently enrolled in a non-certification training course or internship
  • Students of foreign nationality living in France for less than a year, taking French language classes
  • Students who have lived in France in the past under a mobility program during their studies (e.g. Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degrees, exchange programs) that did not lead to certification

Students who have been or are enrolled in a French higher education institution during their studies, except international students enrolled in French higher education institutions abroad, are not eligible for the scholarship.

Additionally, students who have interrupted their studies for more than three consecutive years or those receiving any other funding whose amount exceeds 650€ per month are ineligible.

Application Process

Admission to a Master's program does not automatically entitle students to a scholarship. Students who are eligible for a Paris-Saclay University IDEX scholarship will be selected by the admission panel from among those students admitted to a Paris-Saclay University Master's program.

Only students who receive an email invitation from Paris-Saclay University may apply for the scholarship. No unsolicited applications are accepted.

The application process involves three steps:

  1. Upon selection, students will receive a link to an online application form via email. Students must complete the online application form and provide the names and contact details of two referees who can submit a reference for the candidate.
  2. Each of the two referees named by the candidate will receive a link to an online recommendation form via email. They must complete and submit the form before the scholarship deadline.
  3. The application file will be considered complete when both recommendation forms have been submitted by the referees.

Selection Process

The selection of laureates will be made by a jury composed of experts from the faculties, component institutions, and associated universities of Paris-Saclay University. The selection criteria include academic level, personal project, and other relevant factors.

Programs/Fields

All academic fields are eligible, and all Master's programs for which Université Paris-Saclay is accredited, except for vocational training, are eligible.

Bonus System for Refugee Students

Paris-Saclay University, together with UNHCR and MEnS association (Migrants dans l'Enseignement supérieur/Migrants in Higher Education), is implementing a bonus system for refugee students.

  1. The selection committee will evaluate the applications based on the following criteria:
  • Academic excellence: The committee will look at the academic background of the applicant, including their grades and achievements in their previous academic programs.
  • Quality of the proposed project: The committee will assess the feasibility and relevance of the applicant's proposed project, including its originality and innovation.
  • Motivation and potential for success: The committee will evaluate the applicant's motivation and potential for success in their chosen field of study.
  1. The final decision on the award of scholarships will be made by the selection committee, and successful applicants will be notified in June 2023.

Bonus system for refugee students or students with subsidiary protection: Paris-Saclay University, in collaboration with UNHCR and the MEnS association, has implemented a bonus system for refugee students or students with subsidiary protection who are applying for the IDEX scholarships.

If you are a refugee or have subsidiary protection status, you should indicate this in your statement of purpose when submitting your application to the Master's program.

Programs and fields: All academic fields are eligible for the IDEX scholarships, and all Master's programs offered by Université Paris-Saclay are eligible, except for vocational training programs.
