STEM Education Project at 400 colleges Approved by PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan approved a stem education project at 400 colleges across the country on Friday.

While chairing a meeting, the Prime Minister nodded to launch a project to introduce STEM education - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - in partnership with 400 universities.

The joint meeting was attended by the Secretary of Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Adviser to the Secretary of Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, the Secretary of the Treasury, the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue and other senior officials.

According to reports, the first phase will set up dedicated science and technology, engineering and mathematics laboratories in 40 schools, and approximately 100,000 children in 400 schools will have access to education and training in STEM education.

At the event, the prime minister said the country's development was linked to advancements in science and technology, made quick decisions and completed the projects.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain briefed the Prime Minister on core projects and achievements over the past two years as well as possible plans to advance science and technology.

The Prime Minister was also briefed on the progress of the planned University of Technology and Emerging Technology to be established in the Prime Minister's home.

The meeting also discussed the project of clean water supply and providing suitable jobs for young people and women throughout the district.
