Sindh Police to launch domestic workers verification App

The Sindh Police Department has set itself the task of developing a mobile application for screening domestic workers in Karachi. According to the police, the purpose of the app is to protect the local population from "dubious elements" and prevent them from hiring people with a solid criminal background.

The initiative came after several reports of domestic workers involved in various crimes, particularly in elite areas of the metropolis.

Pending the case, SSP Sheeraz Nazeer in the Southern District said they would collect information on domestic workers in the first phase of launch preparation. He also explained how the mobile application works.

He also told the press that citizens could upload information data about potential domestic workers. If the employee has a criminal record, a red cross will appear in his profile, which is enough to warn the employer.

Sheeraz had high hopes for the initiative as it would result in a reduction in the number of domestic crimes in the city. He also said there have been many incidents reported in Karachi and Hyderabad in the past involving domestic workers involved in criminal activities.

In addition, the app also helps to check the information about potential tenants according to SSP.
