The federal cabinet has approved the appointment of Shahid Mahmood Khan as CEO of Pak Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO).
Shahid Mahmood Khan is a chartered accountant with approximately 30 years of experience in finance, general management, supply chain, government relations, business planning, oil, auto development and accounting.
Shahid Khan is currently the Project Manager at PARCO Coastal Refinery (PCR) Ltd. PCR is a planned Pakistani oil refinery located at Khalifa Point in Lasbela, Balochistan. It was established by PARCO through a joint venture between the governments of Pakistan and Abu Dhabi.

This author had previously heard that the petroleum division had reportedly paved the way for the appointment of a "naive-looking officer" to PARCO's top position.
The petroleum division had also set up a four-member committee to approve preferred candidates as "qualified" for PARCO's toplock.
